Rivaling their legendary output from the '70s onwards, Brazilian jazz-funk pioneers Azymuth's latest album Fênix (FARO 194CD/LP, 2016) saw the band on top form, with their trademark samba doido (crazy samba) sounding as slick as ever. Since then, Far Out Recordings has commissioned a special one-off remix for the project, from Chicago deep-house legend Ron Trent, who has long cited Azymuth as musical heroes and one of his biggest influences.
