Founded in 1934, the Golden Gate Quartet was one of the main emblems of the advent of Afro-American music in history. Having invented a complete musical genre, the Quartet decided to cut this new disc in Raleigh near Charlotte, the region which nourished and encouraged the development of the Golden Gate Quartet.
