What Men Deserve to Lose is a phrase taken from Derek Cooper's Skye - "Faeries have foibles similar to humans - they can even get drunk. Favourite occupations are spinning, weaving and grinding meal or making faerie arrows. Some faeries are poorer than others, and reading old descriptions of faerie life gives rise to the impression that being a faerie is every bit as tedious as being human. Like rain, faeries usually come from the west and are a thieving lot even though they only take what men deserve to lose." It is also the title of the sparkling new, fifth album from one of Scotland's most innovative and popular groups the Peatbog Faeries. Based on the Isle of Skye, the Peatbog Faeries have accurately been described as 'the future of Celtic dance music'. Their music mixes traditional roots and folklore with influences from jazz, hip hop, reggae and beyond, to produce a unique contemporary fusion.
