Famed primarily for his wildly theatrical performances and completely over the top vocal delivery, Screamin' Jay Hawkins was one of the most influential performers of early rock n' roll. His signature song, the 1956 hit "I Put a Spell on You," helped to shape rock n' roll and made Screamin' Jay the first "shock rocker."
