Long before he evolved into a 60s Soul legend, Ted Taylor was, variously, a Gospel, DooWop, R&B and even a mainstream Pop singer. Known for his neo-falsetto, Gospel-tinged tenor, he was often compared with singers like Clyde McPhatter and Little Willie John. Sadly, Ted didn't enjoy their levels of success, although his body of recorded work remains both highly regarded and exceedingly collectable.
